Bio

I love telling stories. Like music, stories have their own sound and feel: sometimes moody and deep; sometimes bright and light-hearted.

I’ve been writing stories my whole life. I started with poetry during my dark and tormented teenage years, and then began writing plays when I discovered how cool stories sounded told out loud.

I then experimented with short stories and radio plays.

I earned my MFA in Creative Writing from The University of Southern Maine and taught writing at Kendall College of Art & Design for ten years in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I taught classes in essay writing, literature, and creative writing and created new courses like Women & Madness In Literature, Comic Book Writing, and Gender & Identity.

I became a full-time narrator and left teaching about 15 years ago. In between narrating NY Times Bestsellers and indie work, I wrote the best-selling romcom series with Sarina Bowen THE MAN HANDS SERIES and produced the award-winning audiobooks.

My new work includes THE TUESDAY GIRL, a searing memoir based off my viral Huff Post article. Coming soon are the thrillers THE KNOWING and THE TAKERS.

I love writing on demand and for particular voices. Every story is a challenge. Every story is an adventure.

Once upon a time…

What Readers are Saying

It's FUNNY!! I mean, really funny. My whole body shook, trying to suppress my laughter made me snort and I accidentally doinked myself on the head with my kindle.”

MAN HANDS series

“I kept reading because I had to know what was going to happen next even though, at some points, you don't want to keep going out of fear.”

IN THE GARDEN ROOM

“This is a book that celebrates twisting paths, that acknowledges that a journey that involves switchbacks and cliffs can still be brave and beautiful.”

THE TUESDAY GIRL

“I never thought a cook book could be so much fun. But then again, Sweet & Sorrow is not an ordinary cook book. It’s a completely unique experience.”
